Convict Lake surrounded by granite peaks and pine forests
Eastern Sierra · California

Wild.
Untamed.
Yours.

A quiet stretch of Convict Lake where the water holds the sky and the pines keep their counsel — this is the high Sierra as it should be.

About Us

A century-old
gathering place
in the high desert

Convict Lake Campground sits on the eastern edge of the Sierra Nevada, where the ancient granite slopes meet water so clear it looks poured from glass. For generations, travelers and locals alike have come here to trade the weight of the world for the quiet rhythm of lake water against the shore.

The campground offers both developed sites with modern conveniences and more rustic options for those who prefer to sleep under a canopy of stars. Whatever your style, the mountain does the rest.

The Area

The Eastern Sierra
at its finest

Convict Lake sits between two of the Sierra's most dramatic ranges — the Inyo to the east, the Mammoth to the west. The result is a valley of contrasts: alpine meadows give way to ancient bristlecone pines, and glacial lakes reflect peaks that have stood for millions of years.

Mammoth Lakes town, with its restaurants, shops, and world-class ski slopes, is just 15 minutes downhill. But the real magic happens right here — on the water, on the trail, or on the rock ledge above camp where the only sound is wind through pinyon.
